Nitrous Oxide and Sedation Dentistry in Troy, MO
Once you’ve experienced sedation dentistry at Troy Family Dental, you will never be afraid of visiting the dentist again. When you undergo dental sedation, you will feel very refreshed and relaxed. Once the sedation has worn off (after five or six hours), you probably will not remember your time at our office.
Dental sedation allows us to perform many dental treatments during one long appointment. Because of this, those who have busy schedules and need several procedures are excellent candidates for sedation. Rather than coming to our office six to eight time for your treatments, you can have your work done in just one appointment!
An hour before your appointment, you will take a small pill. This begins the sedation process. Have a friend or family member drive you to our office for your safety. Then, when you arrive, a friendly member of our team will take you to our comfort room and place you on a monitor to watch your vital signs. During this state of deep relaxation, your treatment will be performed. At the end of the treatment, your companion will drive you safely home so you can enjoy the rest of your relaxing day.
You may benefit from sedation dentistry if:

- You dislike the dental office
- You have a hard time getting numb
- You have very sensitive teeth or a bad gag reflex

Will I be monitored while I’m sedated?
Yes! Throughout your procedure, one of our dedicated team members will be with you. To further protect you, we also monitor your vital signs throughout your entire visit.

Depending on your individual needs and the specific procedures that you will be undergoing, sedation could last anywhere from two to six hours.
Will someone need to accompany me to my appointment?
